Rhodes Branding Director of Client Engagement Molly McGowan Gorsuch, APR, has been selected as a 35 Under 35 award recipient from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA).
The NSPRA 35 Under 35 program recognizes young professional members who make a difference for their school districts or education-related employers. Members are nominated every other year for consideration.
McGowan Gorsuch and the 34 other winners will be recognized at NSPRA’s 2023 National Seminar in St. Louis, Mo., this summer.
“During my time in SchoolPR, I have been blessed to know, learn from, and collaborate with a family of communicators who tirelessly serve their schools, families, and K-12 as a whole,” said McGowan Gorsuch. “I am honored to be included among the ranks of these exceptional professionals who truly have a heart for what they do, and for the K-12 community their expertise serves.”
Before joining the Rhodes Branding team, McGowan Gorsuch served as Public Information Officer for Henderson County Public Schools (HCPS), a 23-school district in Western North Carolina. In her 8 years at HCPS, McGowan Gorsuch brought brand awareness to the district, enhanced district- and school-to-family communications, expanded marketing, established new internal communications, and repositioned the Public Information Office to develop and implement internal and external routine and crisis communication strategy.
At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, McGowan Gorsuch led her district’s Communications Task Group organized in response to state guidelines for reopening public schools, and was a thought leader in the NC Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) District Communication Leaders Group.
In her current role at Rhodes Branding, McGowan Gorsuch is the liaison between the K-12 community and Rhodes’ creative and marketing teams, connecting schools and districts with services designed to align with their unique priorities. She also continues to advocate for K12 and the SchoolPR pros who are tasked with communicating, marketing, branding and more for their schools and districts.
McGowan Gorsuch has her Accreditation in Public Relations through the Universal Accreditation Board, holds a Master of Science in Communications from Purdue University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and English from Elon University. She currently serves on NSPRA’s 2022-23 Accreditation Committee and is the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Western North Carolina Chapter 2023 President-Elect.
