When Vance County Schools set out to create a new strategic plan, they wanted more than a document. They wanted a movement. Under the leadership of Superintendent Dr. Cindy Bennett, the district was determined to develop a plan that would drive real, meaningful change. Rhodes Branding was brought in early to support this vision, not only to help communicate the plan but also to help shape it.
Our partnership began by participating in Vance’s strategic planning sessions, where we observed the district’s commitment to growth and innovation. We provided insights that helped influence the direction of the plan, which ultimately centered on four key pillars: Equity and Inclusion, High-Performance Culture, Innovation, and Experiential Learning.
With the strategy in place, the next step was to define and express the district’s identity. Who is Vance County Schools, and what sets them apart? We led a brand immersion workshop with more than 15 stakeholders to explore these questions. Through these conversations, it became clear that the district is full of passionate educators who are deeply committed to improving student outcomes and strengthening their community.
Located just an hour outside North Carolina’s Research Triangle, Vance County offers a blend of small-town charm and forward-thinking leadership. With 16 schools serving more than 5,000 students, and a ranking as the 19th most diverse county in the state, the district is uniquely positioned to provide a world-class education in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Our team developed a completely new visual identity to reflect the district’s future-focused vision. The updated logo features enhanced colors, shapes, and textures that better align with the district’s goals. Alongside a strategic plan website and print collateral, the refreshed identity presents a cohesive and inspiring story that reflects where Vance County Schools is going.
